Push the Crown back in. Correcting the 0 Positions of the Hands Perform the following procedure if the stopwatch hands do not return to their 0 (zero) positions when you reset the stopwatch. Pull the Crown out to Click 2. Press A to move the Stopwatch 1/10-Second Hand clockwise. ξ Holding down A will move the hand at high speed. Press B to move the Stopwatch Second Hand clockwise. ξ Holding down B will move the hand at high speed. ξ The Stopwatch Minute Hand is synchronized with the Stopwatch Second Hand . After all of the hands are the way you want, push the Crown back in. Crown Operations Crown Some water-resistant models (100 meters, 200 meters) have a screw-in crown. When you need to perform a crown operation, rotate it towards you to unscrew it. Then pull the crown out. Avoid applying undue force when pulling. The watch loses its water resistance while the crown is unscrewed. After performing a crown operation, fully screw the crown back in. Loosen If your watch has a rotary bezel... Start You can rotate the bezel to align its ▼ mark with the minute hand. Then you will be able to tell how much time has elapsed since aligning the ▼ mark. Auto Return Use the Timekeeping Mode to set and view the current time and date. If you do not perform any operation for about one or two minutes while configuring settings (setting flashing on the display) in any mode, the watch will exit the setting operation and return to normal display. Scrolling Use the C button in the setting mode to scroll through available settings. In most cases, holding down C when scrolling will scroll at high speed. To specify the illumination duration In the Timekeeping Mode, hold down C for about two seconds to toggle the illumination duration between 3 seconds ( indicator displayed) and 1.5 seconds ( indicator not displayed). • Pressing C also toggles between 12-hour and 24-hour timekeeping. • The indicator is displayed in all modes when the illumination duration setting is three seconds. • To protect against running down the watch's battery, the watch automatically switches to the 1.5-second setting about seven hours after the 3-second setting is selected. To illuminate the display In any mode, press L to illuminate the display. To specify the illumination duration In the Timekeeping Mode, hold down C for about two seconds to toggle the illumination duration between 3 seconds ( indicator displayed) and 1.5 seconds ( indicator not displayed). • Pressing C also toggles between 12-hour and 24-hour timekeeping. • The indicator is displayed in all modes when the illumination duration setting is three seconds. • To protect against running down the watch's battery, the watch automatically switches to the 1.5-second setting about seven hours after the 3-second setting is selected. SU : Sunday MO : Monday TU : Tuesday WE : Wednesday TH : Thursday FR : Friday SA : Saturday To toggle between 12-hour and 24-hour timekeeping In the Timekeeping Mode, press A to switch between the 12-hour and 24-hour formats. ξ With the 12-hour format, the PM indicator appears for times in the range of noon to 11:59 p.m. and no indicator appears for times in the range of midnight to 11:59 a.m. When the Daily Alarm is turned on, the alarm sounds for 20 seconds at the preset time each day. When the Hourly Time Signal is turned on, the watch beeps every hour on the hour. ξ All of the operations in this section are performed in the E-7 2. Press C to change the selection in the following sequence. Hour Minutes Normal Alarm Mode (No digit fl ashes) Alarm time Alarm Mode, which you enter by pressing B (page E-4). To set the alarm time 1. In the Alarm Mode, press C. The hour digits fl ash because they are selected. ξ This operation automatically turns on the alarm. 3. Press A to increase the selected digits. Holding down A changes the number at high speed. ξ The format (12-hour and 24-hour) of the alarm time matches the format you select for normal timekeeping. ξ When setting the alarm time using the 12-hour format, take care to set the time correctly as morning or afternoon (PM). 4. After you set the alarm time, use C to return to the Alarm Mode. (Hour : Minutes) Mode indicator E-8 ξ If you do not operate any button for one or two minutes while a selection is fl ashing, the fl ashing stops and the watch goes back to the Timekeeping Mode automatically. To switch the Daily Alarm and Hourly Time Signal on and off Press A while in the Alarm Mode to change the status of the Daily Alarm and Hourly Time Signal in the following sequence. Mode indicator The Stopwatch Mode lets you measure elapsed time, split times, and two fi nishes. The range of the stopwatch is 59 minutes, 59.99 seconds. ξ The stopwatch continues to run, restarting from zero after it reaches its limit, until you stop it. ξ The stopwatch measurement operation continues even if you exit the Stopwatch Mode.
